Alden “JR” Colvin

Colvin has been Precision Machining, Quality Control and Advanced Manufacturing instructor/program director at Madison College for the past 22 years and a SkillsUSA advisor for 20 years. Prior to that he worked as a toolmaker for more than 10 years. He also served in the U.S. Army.

served as an expert for the WorldSkills 2019 Kazan, Russia competition for CNC Milling. When asked what serving as a technical expert for the 2024 WorldSkills USA team means to him, he says, “The opportunity to promote our craft in a world competition is an awesome privilege and responsibility.”

will serve as the WorldSkills Competition Expert in CNC Milling. In this role, he is responsible for planning and managing the technical aspects of the competition.
