Representing the United States at WorldSkills in Heavy Vehicle Technology
WorldSkills competitor Cale Mouser says the 2024 Heavy Vehicle competition will allow him the opportunity to interact with different nationalities, to further his knowledge of heavy equipment and compete with the best. He also plans on representing the U.S. well. Mouser represented the state of North Dakota at the SkillsUSA Championships in 2022 and 2023 and won a national bronze medal in 2022 and a national gold medal in 2023. He graduated from North Dakota State College of Science with an associate degree in Diesel Technology in May 2023 and is currently employed by Agri Trails Co-op in Hope, Kan. as a service technician. His expert, Tom Wozniak from Lake Mills, Wis., will train Mouser for the competition. Mouser credits his success in learning Diesel Equipment Technology to having a mentality that is driven and a mind that is open to learning. “Without my instructors and my employers not only teaching me but allowing me to work at my own pace to understand the systems, I wouldn’t have been successful.”
Mouser says what he likes best about working in the trades is the variety, complexity and the troubleshooting that each day brings. “There is no one day that is exactly like another.”
Mouser says, “It is impossible to put into words the honor it is to be able to represent the U.S. on a global level.”
