With 30 years in the culinary industry under his belt, Greg Beachey is currently an Associate Dean at the Washburne Culinary Institute – attaining his goal of raising excellence in the restaurant industry and future workforce.
Greg has managed and overseen the SkillsUSA national championship for the past ten years, exemplifying his passion for youth culinary competitions. His experience with these competitions allows him to connect not only with the top young culinarians in the country, but also with the top educators and leading culinary professionals nationwide.
Greg hopes Julia Spondike walks away from WorldSkills having learned the joy of working hard to perfect a plan and seeing it through to completion. He advises Julia to get to know fellow competitors, experts, and evaluators, as networking is the key to success in the small family that is the culinary industry.
