Representing the United States at WorldSkills in CNC Milling

WorldSkills competitor Kaden Stanczyk says the 2024 CNC Milling competition will allow him the opportunity meet new people who share the same interests and use the same machines. Stanczyk represented the state of Wisconsin at the SkillsUSA Championships in 2022 and 2023 and won a national silver medal in Precision Machining in 2023. He is a student at Mid-State Technical College in Rapids, Wis. His expert, J.R. Colvin from Madison, Wis., will train Stanczyk for the competition. Stanczyk credits his success in learning CNC Milling to studying and training. “Getting to this point has been a work in progress for me. I have learned so much from my instructor and SkillsUSA advisor Mike Berry, my trainer and WorldSkills expert J.R. Colvin and my dad, Scott Stanczyk.”

Stanzczyk says what he likes best about working in the trades is being able to take material and turn it into a part. “I know that my parts can be used in so many places like on firetrucks, in the military, in farming, on airplanes and boats, in mining and more.”

Stanczyk says, “Being chosen for the 2024 WorldSkills USA team is an incredible honor and a great achievement. I look forward to meeting people who share the same interests as me and want to see what others have learned using the same machines.”
