Training WorldSkills USA competitor Timothy Girouard

Currently the plumbing and heating instructor at Eastwick College, HoHokus School of Trades, Robert Hahn has been involved in the plumbing industry since the early 1970’s and has watched the industry grow tremendously over the years. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Education from Kean University before later earning a Master’s degree in Vocational Education from Rutgers University.

To address the skills gap in America and attract new talent, Robert believes schools should allow trade programs to visit and showcase their work, along with allowing students to ride along on jobs to get firsthand experience.

Robert hopes Timothy Girouard walks away from the WorldSkills competition with pride in his work and competitiveness for perfection. He believes the knowledge gained from the WorldSkills competition will instill in Tim something he will take with him throughout his career.

“Being willing to learn and grow from the experience and extending those learnings to others will be essential for future success.”
